About me

Leila Bes Hagh, known by her stage name Ava Bahram, was born on August 23, 1978. She is an Iranian singer and music instructor.

Ava was born into an art-loving, musical family—her father was a violinist and her mother had a beautiful, soulful voice. She studied under Mohammad Sedghi Goftar, famously known as Master Ahmadzadeh, and expanded her musical knowledge through his classes. From her teenage years, she began teaching piano, vocals, and solfège.

Before immigrating, Ava Bahram was considered one of the active figures in Iran’s music scene. In 2005, alongside 90 other pop musicians, she signed and sent an open letter to then-president Mohammad Khatami, calling for greater support of musical activities.

In addition to her music career, she also holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from Azad University in Iran. She has even contributed to urban development projects, including the design, supervision, and naming of Laleh and Ladan parks in Tehran.

With her natural talent and passion for music, Ava quickly flourished in her artistic path. In 2003, she collaborated with Mehregan Music Institute, directed by Farhad Reyhani and Raja Mohammadi, and gave her first live performance as the lead singer of the Mehregan Music Group at Niru-ye Havaei Hall in Tehran.

In 2012, a talent competition featuring both singing and dancing was organized by the Iranian community in the UAE in collaboration with several Persian-language TV networks, where Ava Bahram participated as a main judge.

She is considered one of the most successful Iranian female artists, with live performances on major platforms such as Manoto TV, BBC Persian, and GEM TV.

In 2014, Ava Bahram rose to wide fame with her song “Roozhaye Tanhaei” (Lonely Days), produced for the Turkish TV series “Fatmagül’ün Suçu Ne?” (What is Fatmagül’s Fault?). Between 2015 and 2017, the song was broadcast nightly on GEM TV channels, becoming one of the most popular and memorable pop tracks among Iranians. Following that success, she also performed songs for the movie “Forsati Dobareh” (A Second Chance) and the hit TV series “Gülperi”, both aired on GEM.

In 2017, she was invited as a guest star to perform at the finale of Manoto TV’s talent show “Stage”.

In 2018, she joined the legendary Turkish singer Emel Sayın in a concert in Istanbul, where they performed the famous Persian classic “Gol-e-Sangam” together.

In a 2016 interview with BBC Persian host Behzad Bolour, Ava Bahram revealed that she had left Iran due to restrictions on female singers. She first migrated to Dubai (UAE) in 2010 and later relocated to Turkey in 2016.

Her music has been released by well-known publishers such as Avang Music and Radio Javan.

In addition to live performances and teaching, an important part of my artistic journey has been creating and releasing music and music videos, each of which reflects a piece of my inner world and personal experiences.
